This is assuredly the best picture I have ever taken. And it was simply serendipity. Jenn and I were driving to California for the Holidays. We had just left SLC after a fruitless search for tire chains. I had stopped at one of the scenic view spots for the lake and snapped some pics while Jenn stayed in the car.
We got moving again and I spotted the train up ahead. I could see its reflection then in the puddled water in the roadside ditch, and I just knew it would frame up for a nice picture.
So I stopped the truck and got out - Jenn again stayed in the truck, I think she thought I was nuts ;p - and I took a series of pics. The 2 best being the oncoming pic also posted here, and this one. I have also uploaded the full size version of this pic. |
